Detailed Information

The Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute of Barbados, is a non-profit organization empowering Caribbean people through the demonstration and education of permaculture, in partnership with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and The Ministry of Agriculture of Barbados. Their signature course, the Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC), is designed for men and women of all skill levels. With the goal of reconnecting the people to agriculture through effective, sustainable means. PDC includes the application of permaculture principles to organic food (produce and livestock) production, home design, energy conservation and generation, and much more. Their goal — to empower individuals and communities to build sustainable & environmentally friendly systems where each aspect of the design supports the whole. These leaders all play an essential role in our society and are making big impacts resulting from their unrelenting optimism for a better future for all. Self care is giving the world the best of you instead of what’s left of you and all these organisations are working to fill gaps that create an environment which nurtures tomorrow’s leaders, today. We are called, each in his own way, to use our gifts, knowledge and platforms to shape, impact and empower our communities, thus exercising our universal responsibility to leave this world in some way, better than we found it. To achieve this mission, we must all commit. All in!
