Young Yams Creative Inc. is a non-profit, non-governmental organization using the performing arts and new media to enhance learning, improve communication skills and encourage leadership skills among children and youth. They address various personal and social developmental issues which concern and affect young people in Barbados and across the region, nurturing their ability to become confident, compassionate citizens. Varia’s love for and involvement in the arts, as actress and drama teacher, birthed a non-traditional programme which utilises drama and theatre techniques to impart life skills to the young and marginalized.
